this week’s episode, we talk Black swag. While we know the Black
experience is no monolith, there are shared histories and practices
among Black folks that make our character special. The way we walk,
the way we talk, the way we grew up, and the shared pains, joys,
fears, and passions that we have for ourselves and our communities,
culminates in a swag that is unmatched. Beyoncé reminds us and
exemplifies this swag in her Netflix documentary, “Homecoming,”
which is a celebration of one of the homes of Black swag, the HBCU
collegiate experience. Listen as we talk about the history, legacy,
and future of Black swag—how we learned it, how we keep it, and how
we anticipate its evolution for our future.
